The Fall Plan: Why August Is the Best Time to Start Sculptra & Radiesse

August has a different energy than July.
The 4th of July rush has settled, beach trips are starting to wind down, and many of my clients are slowly shifting out of “just enjoy the summer” mode and into “okay, what’s next for my skin?” mode. If you read last month’s blog, you already know I mentioned that fall planning starts now — not in October, not even in September, but in August.
This month, I want to unpack why. Specifically, I want to talk about biostimulators: Sculptra and Radiesse. These are two treatments I get asked about constantly, and they are also two of the most misunderstood because they do not work like the treatments most people are used to.
They are not about an instant before-and-after. They are about rebuilding, supporting, and improving over time and that timeline is exactly why August is the moment to start.

What Biostimulators Actually Do (And Why They're Different)
I want to clear something up first, because this comes up in almost every consultation: Sculptra and Radiesse are not the same as traditional dermal fillers, even though people often lump them into the same category.
Traditional fillers add volume in the moment. You see the change right away, and the results last for a defined period before your body breaks the product down. That has its place, and I use traditional fillers all the time for clients who want more immediate, visible change.
Biostimulators work differently. Instead of just adding volume, they work with your body. Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, and Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite — both ingredients that stimulate your own body to produce new collagen over time. Rather than simply filling a space, they're rebuilding structure from within.
That's the appeal for so many of my clients. The results look like you, just like a more rested, more supported version of yourself. Not "done." Not overfilled. Just better.
But here's the part that matters most for timing: because biostimulators work by triggering your own collagen production, the results aren't immediate. They build gradually, which means the time to start is well before you actually want to see the results.
The Timeline: Why August and September Matter
Here's roughly what that timeline looks like for each:
Sculptra typically requires a series of treatments, usually spaced about 4-6 weeks apart, with most clients needing 2-3 sessions for their initial series. Results build slowly and naturally, with visible improvement typically appearing around 6-8 weeks after a session, and full collagen-building results continuing to develop over 3-6 months.

This is not a treatment for someone who wants to see dramatic change by next weekend. It's a treatment for someone who wants to look noticeably better, but not "treated," heading into the holidays.

Radiesse offers a bit more immediate volume on top of its collagen-stimulating effects, so clients often see some results right away, with the added benefit of continued improvement over the following months as collagen production increases. Radiesse can be a great option for someone who wants the structural and lifting benefits of a biostimulator with a bit more immediate visible change.
So if you're thinking about a fall wedding, a milestone birthday, a big work event, or simply want to walk into the holiday season feeling like the best, most refreshed version of yourself, the math is simple: if we start in August or September, your results have time to build naturally and settle beautifully by the time you actually need them.
Starting in November is too late for the full effect. Starting now means your skin has the runway it needs.

What Areas Can Biostimulators Help With?
Biostimulators are incredibly versatile, and I use them for more than people expect. Some of the most common areas I treat with Sculptra and Radiesse include:
Cheeks and midface, to restore volume and lift that softens with age
Temples, which often hollow first and age the whole face when overlooked
Jawline and pre-jowl area, for improved contour and structure
Under-eye hollows (with Radiesse specifically, in the right candidates)
Overall skin quality and texture, as the new collagen improves not just volume but the quality of the skin itself
The beauty of biostimulators is that they don't just fill a single line or area. They support your whole facial structure in a way that looks natural because, in a very real sense, it's your own collagen doing the work.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
If you've noticed your face looking a little more tired, hollow, or "deflated" than it used to, even though nothing dramatic has happened, you may be a great candidate for biostimulators. This is also a wonderful option for clients who:
Want to maintain and build on results from previous filler or Sculptra treatments
Are looking for a more gradual, natural-looking approach to volume restoration
Want to invest in their skin's long-term collagen health, not just an immediate fix
Have an event 3+ months away and want to plan strategically rather than rush
The best way to know if biostimulators are right for you is a consultation, where we can look at your specific concerns, your goals, and your timeline together.
Siempre.

August is the month to start thinking ahead.
For the month of August, I’m offering $150 off Sculptra or Radiesse for clients ready to begin their collagen-building plan before fall.
The Fall Plan Special
$150 off Sculptra® or Radiesse® — for clients ready to start their collagen-building plan before fall.
Biostimulators take time to work. That's not a drawback — it's the entire point. Starting in August means your results have the runway to build naturally and settle beautifully by the time the holidays arrive.

Why my clients keep coming back to Sculptra & Radiesse
1. The results look like you — not like you had something done. Because biostimulators work by stimulating your own collagen, nothing about the outcome reads as "filled" or overdone. You look rested. Supported. Like the version of yourself you remember. That's the number one thing clients tell me they were afraid of, and it's the number one thing they're relieved about afterward.
2. They rebuild structure, not just fill a line. Cheeks, temples, jawline, overall skin quality — biostimulators support your whole facial framework instead of chasing one wrinkle at a time. And because the new collagen improves skin texture too, the results go beyond volume.
3. They're an investment, not a maintenance treadmill. This is the one that surprises people. Collagen you build is collagen you keep working with. Many of my clients settle into a simple yearly rhythm rather than constantly chasing a fading result.
Karen said it better than I could: subtle changes. That's the whole philosophy. And notice she said yearly — she's not chasing a quick fix. She's playing the long game, and it shows.
If you want to walk into the holidays looking like the best-rested version of yourself, August is when we start.
Valid through August 31, 2026. Discount applies to your first session. Consultation required to determine candidacy.
Behind the Beauty
For me, August always feels like both a pause and a reset. I’m still trying to enjoy the last bits of summer with my family, but I’m also already thinking ahead for my business, for my clients, and honestly, for myself too.

That is why I love when clients start planning early, because it tells me they are no longer chasing quick fixes; they are learning to think long-term about their skin and aging process.
And that is really what treatments like Sculptra and Radiesse are about not changing who you are, but making intentional choices now so you can continue feeling confident in the months ahead.
July was about slowing down and protecting what you've already built. August is about looking ahead, not anxiously, but intentionally.
The treatments that take time to work are the ones worth starting now, so that when fall and the holidays arrive, you're not rushing to catch up. You're already there.
